Luria Kaitana
LAST DAY OF LURIA KAITANA!

TODDLERS & 4-7 GROUP:

Our last day of Kaitana was so exciting. First, we shaped our challah and baked them. Then, we went to Dean Street Park where most of us went to visit the FireHouse next door, while some of us from the older group played with water balloons in the park. After lunch we joined groups again for a fun afternoon at our own carnival. We got to make “goop” and won tickets at booths and then got to choose our prizes. Then we all said “goodbye” (even to our worms!) and a big Thank You to everyone for making the first Luria Kaitana a lot of fun and agreat success!

WEDS & THURS

TODDLERS:

On Wednesday we learned how to make ice cream! We helped Tova and Bernie add salt to ice and felt how much colder the ice became. Then we put our bag of liquid in the bag of ice and shook it up. The ice cream was delicious. On Thursday we made challah dough and then went to the park. When we came back from the park, we saw how the yeast in the dough had caused it to rise.

4-7 GROUP:

Wednesday we went on our last trip, to the American Museum of Natural History. It was great learning about space and dinosaurs! On Thursday we had an archaeology workshop digging up our own dinosaurs. Then after swimming and lunch, we had our last music class with rivkah. In Kung Fu, we had a special demonstration where we all showed our new skills, then Victor demonstrated how he can break a real brick! At the end of the day we worked on putting our dinosaurs together. Then we made challah dough with Tova.

After lunch and Kung Fu, we started our Terrarium project. Some of our worms from our worm bin were transferred to the terrarium. On Tuesday, we made our own ice cream in our “Kitchen Chemistry” workshop. We noticed how adding salt to ice made the ice even colder and by shaking our flavored ricemilk, it turned solid. Then we added sprinkles and enojoyed! After swimming and baseball in the park we continued to work on our terrarium by adding flowers and our clay animals that we had created.
