LAST DAY OF LURIA KAITANA!
TODDLERS & 4-7 GROUP:
Our last day of Kaitana was so exciting. First, we shaped our challah and baked them. Then, we went to Dean Street Park where most of us went to visit the FireHouse next door, while some of us from the older group played with water balloons in the park. After lunch we joined groups again for a fun afternoon at our own carnival. We got to make “goop” and won...

TODDLERS:
On Wednesday we learned how to make ice cream! We helped Tova and Bernie add salt to ice and felt how much colder the ice became. Then we put our bag of liquid in the bag of ice and shook it up. The ice cream was delicious. On Thursday we made challah dough and then went to the park. When we came back from the park, we saw how the yeast in the dough had caused it to rise.

WEEK 5: AUG 9 - 13, SCIENCE WEEK
TODDLERS:
This is our last week at Luria kaitana. On Monday we had fun making a “train” and singing songs while riding on our train, like “Hinei Rakevet”. We also played outside on the patio coloring with sidewalk chalk. On Tuesday, we had yoga with Tova. Then we went to the playground and had read-aloud time after lunch.

LAST DAY OF THEATER ARTS WEEK
TODDLERS:
We finished our week off with music and movement at circle time. Then we went out to the playground. At lunch time we tasted our squash pies. Some of us preferred the sweet squash pie and some preferred the savory pie. Then we joined the older group for a Shabbat party to sing songs for Shabbat.

TODDLERS:
We started our week of Theater with role-playing, using puppets and by dressing up. We also crafted a puppet theater and started creating our own puppets. At circle time, we did calisthenics and then unrolled our mats for some yoga time.

This week we are learning all about taking care of our world. We are learning to “reduce” our garbage, “re-use” our things, like bags, and “recycle” by putting things in the recycling bin instead of trash cans. TODDLERS:
On Wednesday, we started our gardening project, planting beans in our pots outside. Thursday, we had a great time cooling off in the park sprinklers. On Friday we took a walk to the Brooklyn Public Library for a special program called “Reading Is Fundamental” (RIF) for toddlers, then we had a Shabbat party at lunch time and sang songs for Shabbat.
